Literature Text

It’s been seven months

Since the time I last saw you

Fell to pieces that night

In the dying moonlight

Shared my feelings for you

Poured them onto the gritty concrete

Out of my mouth, away from my heart

Hoping with you they’d stick

I never thought the day would come

But the time was right

And I knew it well

There I was, shaking with desire

There were you, frozen by my words

Paralyzed, speechless in the new spring air

Then finally responding

“I’m not sure if I dare.”

Agony

Then relief

Then agony again

Followed by a slow burn

Down to bereavement

Over the loss of us
Had to write. So I wrote this.

I love it.  So sad, and too familiar.
